How to blur or pixelate

  1. Drop a photo or screenshot. It appears with one region already drawn.
  2. Cover what should stay private. Drag and resize regions, add more, pick blur or pixelate and how strong.
  3. Apply and download. The regions are blurred at full resolution and the rest of the image is untouched.

Why use myownpic for this

Nothing is uploaded

Photos are read from your disk and processed by your browser. There is no server, so ID scans, family pictures and work files never travel anywhere.

Faster than any upload

A 10 MB photo compresses in about a second. No queue, no upload bar, no download round trip, and it keeps working offline.

Whole batches, one zip

Drop a folder, not a file. Every tool works on many images at once and hands you a zip.

No watermark, no account

Free with no sign-up, no daily quota, no resolution cap and no logo stamped on your pictures.

Questions people ask

Blur or pixelate, which is safer?

Both destroy detail permanently in the exported file. Use a strong setting: a light blur or large pixels can sometimes be read by a person who knows what they are looking for. There is no undo in the downloaded copy.

Can the blur be reversed?

Not from the exported image. The pixels are replaced, not hidden under a layer. Keep your original if you might need it.

Does it detect faces automatically?

Not yet. You draw the boxes, which also lets you hide plates, addresses, names and anything else. Automatic face detection is planned.
