Resize images without uploading them
Type a width and height, pick a percentage, or choose a preset for Instagram, YouTube thumbnails, LinkedIn or passport photos. Works on a whole batch at once.
How to resize image
- Drop the images. One or many. The original dimensions appear on each row.
- Choose the size. Exact pixels with the aspect ratio locked, a percentage, or a preset. Decide whether to crop to fill or add bars when the shape changes.
- Resize and download. Pixels are resampled with a smooth filter and saved in the format you choose.
Why use myownpic for this
Nothing is uploaded
Photos are read from your disk and processed by your browser. There is no server, so ID scans, family pictures and work files never travel anywhere.
Faster than any upload
A 10 MB photo compresses in about a second. No queue, no upload bar, no download round trip, and it keeps working offline.
Whole batches, one zip
Drop a folder, not a file. Every tool works on many images at once and hands you a zip.
No watermark, no account
Free with no sign-up, no daily quota, no resolution cap and no logo stamped on your pictures.
Questions people ask
Should I crop to fill or add bars?
Crop to fill trims the edges so the picture fills the new frame with no borders, which is what social platforms expect. Add bars keeps every pixel and pads the rest. Stretch distorts the image and is rarely what you want.
Can I enlarge an image?
You can set any size, but enlarging cannot invent detail, so the result is softer than a true high-resolution photo. It is still useful when a site demands a minimum size.
Which sizes do Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn want?
Instagram feed posts are 1080×1080 or 1080×1350, Stories and Reels 1080×1920. YouTube thumbnails are 1280×720. LinkedIn banners are 1584×396 and profile photos 400×400. The presets cover these.
Does resizing reduce quality?
Shrinking keeps the image sharp because there are more source pixels than needed. The output is saved at 92 percent quality by default, which is visually lossless for most photos.
