Do WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook remove location data?
When sent as normal media, most big platforms strip EXIF. Files sent as documents, email attachments, cloud links and many smaller sites keep it. Stripping it yourself removes the guesswork.
Can I stop my phone from recording location?
Yes. On iPhone turn off Location Services for the Camera app; on Android disable location tags in the camera settings. Existing photos still carry it.
Is the image quality changed?
No. The metadata blocks are removed and the compressed pixels are copied exactly, so quality and size stay the same.
